Blazing Fast Averages for the Biggest Claims Administrators

Workers’ compensation medical bills are getting paid fast. The latest data spans the period from 10/1/2014 to 3/31/2015, which includes the traditionally slower holiday season.

Across all 350+ claims administrators, the average days to payment for the bills we submit was less than 21 working days.

There’s even better news if we look at the top 20 work comp claims administrators (the 20 claims administrators  to which DaisyBill submits the most bills). For those 20, the average days to payment was less than 18 days! The table below represents the average number of days from submission of a bill until receipt of the explanation of review (EOR), and takes into account EORs that we received during the above time period.

The not-so-great news is that some claims administrators are not compliant with the mandated 15 working days to process electronic bills.  AIG Chartis, Employers, ESIS, and York Risk Services are among those claims administrators that exceed the mandated deadlines.
