The Workers’ Compensation Institute (WCI)’s 78th Annual Workers’ Compensation Educational Conference (and 35th Safety and Health Conference) did not disappoint.
Billed as the biggest industry conference of the year nationwide, “Supercharge the Future” lived up to the hype, bringing together professionals from every aspect of workers’ comp, from regulators and industry executives to providers, attorneys, and vendors.
Extremely well-organized (especially for such a massive event), with high-quality speakers and sessions, this was a conference to remember—and daisyBill will be back in 2025.
As our readers know, there’s much to improve about the workers’ comp system nationwide in order to better serve injured workers and convince providers to stay involved.
But the competence, optimism, and energy of the 2024 WCI conference gave us every reason to think workers’ comp can fulfill its mandate more effectively.
For four days, the Orlando World Center Marriott was packed with more industry expertise per square foot than any event daisyBill has attended previously. While hosting our exhibitor space and having substantive discussions with leaders from all corners of the industry, it was impossible to cover all of the hundreds of high-impact sessions on offer.
However, what we saw gave us renewed confidence that experts working together in good faith can actually make things better for injured workers and the providers who treat them. Kudos to WCI for organizing and executing such a behemoth of an event, despite what must have been significant logistical challenges.
Most impressively, multiple contingents of state-level workers’ comp regulators were in attendance. Any event that fosters honest conversations between the professionals on the front lines of workers’ comp and the people responsible for governing the system is worth the price of admission.
The next WCI conference is set for August 17-20, 2025. Once registration opens, we encourage every provider and industry stakeholder in every state to sign up. Check this space for updates on WCI 2025, as well as other upcoming workers’ comp events across the country.
