2015 Work Comp Fee Schedule (OMFS) Changes - Still Waiting

We’ve been getting a lot of questions about the 2015 changes to the workers’ comp OMFS, which will affect just about every reimbursement.

Though we all expected a new fee schedule effective January 1st, the DWC announced a delay in Newsline 2014-118. The new anticipated effective date would be in early February.

However, the DWC has posted an adjustment to the pathology and clinical laboratory section of the OMFS. This adjustment conforms the work comp OMFS to changes in the Medicare payment system as required by Labor Code section 5307.1. This update includes all changes identified in the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Change Request (CR) number CR 9028. The order is effective for all dates of services on or after January 1, 2015.

As a preview for dates of service 2015, many DMEPOS reimbursements increased and many pathology and clinical laboratory reimbursements decreased. Subscribe to daisyBill’s Calculator to find out the new reimbursement rates. It’s free for the first 14 days!

For daisyBillers, rest assured that our OMFS Calculator is correct. For the most part the 2014 reimbursements are still in effect. We will update the Calculator when the DWC changes the OMFS.

For non-daisyBillers, stay tuned for a webinar (probably more than one) on the OMFS changes as soon as the DWC publishes them. Join our mailing list or check the webinar page of our website for updates.
