Workers’ Comp Claims Admin & Clearinghouse Updates: October 2026

Workers’ Comp Claims Admin & Clearinghouse Updates: October 2026

For providers treating workers’ comp patients, knowing where to send your bills is critical. Unfortunately, it’s not always easy.

With hundreds of different entities playing distinct roles in the billing and payment process, providers sometimes need help determining who’s responsible for payment, and how to deliver the bill to that entity or an appropriate vendor.

For that reason, we publish updates like the one below, detailing changes to:

  • The claims administrators responsible for paying workers’ comp bills
  • The clearinghouse vendors that accept providers’ electronic bills (e-bills) on behalf of those claims administrators

See the tables below for the latest updates to ensure that your practice’s revenue management goes as smoothly as possible, and review the primer after the tables for a breakdown of the roles claims administrators and clearinghouses play in the comp system.

Employer Claims Administrator Updates

For the table below, as of the ‘Effective Date,’ the ‘New Claims Administrator’ is responsible for paying for the treatment of injured employees who work for the ‘Employer.’

We list the ‘Previous Claims Administrator’ for reference, but they are no longer responsible for issuing payment for treatment of the employer’s injured workers.

Each claim administrator below assigned new injury claim numbers to the claims they took over from the previous claims administrator; providers must call the new claims administrator to obtain the new injury claim numbers.

P2P Closes Up Shop

Effective October 1, 2026, P2P no longer provides clearinghouse services. That closure left two claims administrators for which P2P formerly accepted e-bills without a clearinghouse.

While insurer The Hartford is now using Jopari, the new clearinghouse for Third-Party Administrator (TPA) Sage Adjusting, LLC has yet to be determined. As such, providers should mail bills to Sage until the new clearinghouse is established.

Roles & Responsibilities

In workers’ comp billing, the claims administrator is responsible for paying providers’ bills for injured workers’ treatment. The claims administrator may be:

  • An insurer
  • A self-insured, self-administering employer
  • A TPA

Most claims administrators lack the technology to accept and respond to e-bills compliantly, so they hire clearinghouses to do so on their behalf. When sending e-bills to a claims administrator, it is imperative to route the bill to the correct clearinghouse; daisyBill maintains direct electronic connections to all clearinghouse vendors.

TPA CorVel and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) are the only two claims administrators that do not use a clearinghouse vendor; these entities accept e-bills directly from providers. daisyBill also maintains direct e-billing connections to both CorVel and the DOL.

Our workers’ comp e-billing experts are here to help any providers (client or not) with questions about e-billing or e-bill delivery. Use the chat icon on this screen, or email us at info@daisybill.com.

daisyBill’s proprietary network of direct e-billing connections means that bills don’t get lost; they get paid (quickly). Click to learn more:
