Walmart Bills: What Workers' Comp Providers Need to Know

Walmart Bills: What Workers' Comp Providers Need to Know

Where should workers’ comp providers send their bills for treating Walmart employees?

With Walmart employing over 1.6 million people in the US alone, the answer to that question can be tricky.

Below, we share the essential billing information practices need to successfully submit bills for the treatment of Walmart’s injured workers:

  1. The mailing address for paper billing, and
  2. The Payer ID for sending bills electronically (e-bills)

Depending on the state, Walmart either self-administers its workers’ comp claims or outsources that job to Third-Party Administrator (TPA) Sedgwick. All 50 states are listed below with the correct claims administrator, as provided to daisyBill by Walmart.

Effective November 1, 2024, CorVel is Walmart’s bill review vendor for all states and also accepts all providers’ electronic bills for the treatment of Walmart employees—regardless of which entity (Walmart or Sedgwick) is the claims administrator.

daisyBill providers (and third-party billers using daisyBill), you can skip this article. Our software knows exactly where and how to deliver your e-bills.

Paper Bills for Walmart Employees

Providers in every state who choose to send paper bills for Walmart’s injured employees should send their bills to the physical address below. Again, regardless of whether Walmart or Sedgwick administers the injured worker’s claim, submit all paper bills to:

Walmart Claims Services, Inc.
PO Box 14731
Lexington, KY 40512-4732

e-Bills for Walmart Employees

If your practice bills electronically, all e-bills for Walmart claims should be transmitted to CorVel using Payer ID E2419.

In addition to conducting bill review, CorVel accepts and responds to providers’ e-bills on Walmart's behalf. All questions regarding e-bill status should be directed to CorVel at (888) 633-2435. daisyBillers should contact daisyBill with any questions about Walmart e-bills.

If your practice uses a clearinghouse to route your workers’ comp e-bills, you must contact your clearinghouse about properly routing Walmart e-bills to CorVel. (Once again, this is not an issue for daisyBill clients; our software connects directly to CorVel.)

Claims Administration for Walmart Employees

In workers’ comp, the claims administrator manages the details of an injured worker’s claim, including paying providers’ bills. In some states, Walmart self-administers its claims, while in other states, it utilizes Sedgwick.

The table below lists the claims administrator for Walmart claims in each state.

Regardless of the claims administrator, medical providers should transmit their Walmart paper bills and e-bills as directed above.
