Walmart to Change Clearinghouse & Bill Review

Walmart to Change Clearinghouse & Bill Review

Currently, Walmart conducts its bill review internally and directs providers to send electronic bills (e-bills) to clearinghouse vendor Data Dimensions. However, starting November 1st, CorVel will review Walmart bills, and Walmart instructs providers to submit all e-bills to CorVel.

Details below!

CorVel to Take Clearinghouse & Bill Review Reins for Walmart

CorVel occupies a unique space in workers’ comp, able to fulfill all of the following roles for insurers and self-insured employers:

  • Third-Party Administrator (TPA) for injured workers’ claims
  • EDI clearinghouse, accepting and responding to providers’ e-bills
  • Bill review, determining the amounts due for the treatment of injured workers

Starting in November, CorVel will assume both clearinghouse and bill review responsibilities for Walmart (Sedgwick will remain Walmart’s TPA in states where Walmart does not self-administer). Providers who send workers’ comp bills electronically will need to send their Walmart e-bills to CorVel using Payer ID E2419.

Providers sending bills electronically will need to adjust the clearinghouse and Payer ID when sending e-bills to Walmart.

daisyBill clients do not need to take any action. daisyBill will automatically route all Walmart e-bills directly to CorVel with the correct Payer ID starting November 1, 2024.
