There’s no (valid) reason for workers’ comp medical providers to wait months for payment.
Providers submit millions of bills through daisyBill annually, and the data are clear. In 2025, claims administrators (aka payers) reimbursed our providers for medical treatment in 8.8 working days on average.
The reason for this breakneck payment speed is simple: our providers bill electronically through our network of direct connections to each workers’ comp clearinghouse (and to the Department of Labor and CorVel, which accept e-bills without using a clearinghouse).
In 2025, daisyBill has submitted 93% of all workers’ comp bills electronically as e-bills (aka, ANSI X12 837 files), with minimal resubmission and consistently fast reimbursement.
Below, see the Top 20 Fastest-Paying Claims Administrators of 2025. These insurers, Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), and self-insured employers were lightning-quick, even by our (high) standards.
The table below reflects the claims administrators (excluding network payers) who processed at least 1,000 medical treatment bills between January 1 and November 30, 2025.
The winner by a mile was Pinnacol Assurance, Colorado’s largest payer and the state’s insurer of last resort.
Even our team was shocked by Pinnacol’s average payment speed of 2.1 days, which is by far the fastest in our system. Given its massive market share, Pinnacol paid the vast majority of our Colorado providers’ bills this year, which means that 2-day pay is the norm for clients in that state.
Paying a similar number of bills, CopperPoint Mutual came in second, settling up with our providers in just 4.7 days. Tied for third (but with significantly lower bill volume) were Church Mutual Insurance Company and Alaska National Insurance, both paying in 5 days flat.
Honorable mention goes to Gallagher Bassett, last year’s top performer and the second-largest payer in our system by bill volume. Good ol’ GB paid 185,234 bills in a more-than-respectable average of 5.6 days.
Every payer below deserves kudos for making it easier for providers to treat injured workers. Collectively, these claims administrators paid in under six days on average, demonstrating the efficiency of comp billing when the right technology meets payers with high professional standards.

In our Claims Administrator and Network Directory, daisyBill tracks and reports payment speeds and compliance data for all claims administrators in our system on a rolling 365-day timeframe.
Check the Directory for important information, including compliance rates, contact information, web portals, and vendor details. This resource is free for any provider who wishes to use it, whether or not they’re a daisyBill client (with no signup required).
These data make one thing resoundingly clear: there’s no excuse for the delays and friction that can plague workers’ comp payment. Fast payment is a choice…and so is slow payment.
When payers do their part, providers can say “yes” to workers’ comp patients, ensuring access to care.
Payer compliance and efficiency directly impact the health and livelihoods of injured workers, a responsibility every insurer, TPA, and self-insured employer should take seriously.
